Engagement and Gamification
FanFest provides a suite of engagement features designed to keep fans coming back. Points, leaderboards, community discussions, and referral sharing work together to create a gamified experience that rewards participation and builds community.
How Engagement Works
Every fan interaction on the platform -- watching shows, participating in contests, posting in threads, chatting, and more -- earns points. These points feed into leaderboards that rank fans across weekly and monthly periods. Channel operators can configure which actions earn points, how many points each action is worth, and what prizes top fans receive.
Key Features
Leaderboards
Weekly and monthly leaderboards rank fans by points earned. Channel admins configure action points, set up channel-specific actions, and define prizes for top performers. Leaderboards can be scoped to the entire channel or to individual communities.
Points System
Points are the core currency of engagement. Fans earn points through platform actions (shows, contests, chat) and custom channel actions (tracked from external websites). Points accumulate in per-channel wallets and can be viewed in a fan's activity summary.
Community Threads
Threads are discussion posts that fans create within channel communities. They support text, images, and video, and can be targeted to specific communities, languages, and countries. Fans interact through likes, replies, and sharing.
Referral Sharing
Every piece of content on FanFest -- shows, threads, contests -- can be shared via referral links. When a fan shares content and another user joins through that link, both the referrer and the platform benefit from increased engagement.
