Shows are FanFest's core interactive experience. They bring fans together in real time with live video, chat, contests, polls, and promotional offers — all in one place.

What is a show?

A show is a broadcast event within a channel. Producers create shows, manage the live experience, and engage fans through interactive features. Fans watch, chat, participate in contests, and react in real time.

Show types

FanFest supports three types of shows, each suited to different production needs:

Live shows

Interactive video calls where producers and fans share their cameras and microphones. Producers manage who is on stage, advance through agenda topics, and launch contests and offers in real time. Best for intimate, interactive sessions like Q&As, watch parties, and fan meetups.

RTMP shows

Professional-quality broadcasts streamed from external software such as OBS Studio, Streamlabs, or vMix. FanFest provides RTMP and SRT credentials that you paste into your streaming software. The stream appears in FanFest with full access to all interactive features (contests, offers, chat, reactions). Best for high-production broadcasts, esports events, and multi-camera setups.

RTMP shows also support simulcasting — streaming to multiple platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter/X, TikTok) simultaneously from FanFest.

Upload shows

Pre-recorded video content uploaded directly to FanFest. Upload both landscape (16:9) and portrait (mobile) versions for the best viewing experience across devices. Upload shows support scheduling, access gating, and audience targeting just like live and RTMP shows.

What producers can do during a show

The producer sidebar provides real-time controls for managing every aspect of a live show:

• Agenda — Advance through planned topics to keep the show on track (live shows)
• Fans — See who is watching, manage stage access requests, invite fans on stage (live shows)
• Contests — Create and launch quizzes and raffles during the show
• Simulcast — Monitor and manage multi-platform streaming destinations (RTMP shows, Admin only)
• Media — Upload and display images or media overlays during the show
• Offers — Create and toggle promotional offers visible to fans

What fans experience

Fans join shows and enjoy:

• Live or streamed video with reactions
• Real-time chat with other fans
• Interactive quizzes with points for correct answers
• Raffles with slot machine animations and prizes
• Polls to vote on topics
• Promotional offers from the channel
• The ability to request to join the stage (live shows)

Access control

Shows support access gating — producers can restrict who can view a show based on membership tiers, community membership, or other authorization rules configured during show creation.
